Experiences all have a chronology that can be seen somewhat as an hourglass. Each grain of sand representing an experience, some closer to the top of the pile, resting on others below. It is only when those below fall through

I love the silence created by the train jostling on the tracks. In this serenity I imagine; a creature of incredible length, speed and flexibility following the train just outside my bedroom window, as I did as a young child. A ghost-like thing, purplish in colour, making elegant strides around obstacles, dancing like a shadow across the landscape.
Perhaps he really is there in more concreteness than I could admit to. Maybe he`s flying just outside my bedroom window all the time, following my very step and stride, observing my every move. If i could be sure of this, then maybe I would act differently, as if an audience was present, and i wouldn't be so shameful when nobody is watching.

`If you need help, you should contact the appropriate person` Tylers mother always tells him. Tyler never takes anything his mother says serious and certainly not when she tries to help him out. Asking for help is for weak people and Tyler doesn't see himself as weak. Even more so, his mother works with disabled people and he thinks his mother gradually has gotten the feeling that everyone around her is disabled. Yet he dials the number of the STD helpline in December. He tells himself that it is the STD information line and that he only needs information. He repeats the word "information line" a few times to himself before he calls. He finally got the courageous to do so.
"Good afternoon, STD helpline, Sara ," It sounds on the other end of the line. Sara has the same smoky voice as his aunt. He feels uncomfortable because he doesn't want to feel like he is talking about STDs with his aunt. Still, He doesn't not hang up the phone.
"Good afternoon, It`s Tyler Gudanick." He says. His father had learned him, that you should always introduce yourself with first and last names, because then you will be taken more serious. Unlike anything his mother says, he always listens carefully to his dads words.
"What can I help you with?" Sara asks.
Tyler looks out of his window, he sees the street he lives in. His neighbor is taking the lock of her bicycle. He had whistled at her in a drunken slumber once. Since then, she ignores him.
"Are you ever afraid of dying?" Tyler whispers.
There was silence on the other end of the line. Sara was probably not expecting this question.
"Not that I know, but this is the STD helpline."
"I have been told that I have chlamydia today. First it chlamydia and soon it will be HIV. "
"You can get tested for HIV." Sara said. "That's very simple."
"Lucy, is the girl that gave me this STD," Tyler says. He didn't not know why he said that.
Tyler felt he had to tell her name to prove that he actually got an STD from someone. Furthermore, there was not much to prove, because she didn't leave anything in his room and there were no pictures of them together. She had only sat on top of him a few times, that was all.
"Did that Lucy already get tested?"
"I still need to tell her."
"I would do that right away if I were you."
"You know, she looks a lot like Princess Leia '
"I do not know who you mean.'
The longer he was on the phone with Sara, the less her voice began to sound like his aunt. Sara's voice was lower, less sharp. She sounded like someone who had a dog. A single woman with a dog.Tyler also imagined that she had sex with a lot of men. You do not just work at the STD helpline, right?
"Too bad." Tyler says. "You should search her on the Internet if you have the time. She is really nice. That's also why I took Lucy home i guess. Because she looked like her. "
"You should not have unsafe sex with girls straight away."
"My friends always say that I shouldn't take girls home that look like actresses, than it can only be a disappointment, they say."
"Did they give you any antibiotics?"
"Yes. Azithromycin. Is it possible it will kill me? "I know that you should never just swallow something. Before you know it, the papers tell you that there is something wrong in the factory in China where the drug was manufactured and suddenly you're at the doctor, who will push brochures of specialist hospitals into your arms.
'I do not think so.' Sara replies
"You think so, are you sure?"
"I'll just ask." Sara puts the phone down. Maybe it was her headset. I have no idea how things are going at the office of the STD helpline. In any case it sounds like murmuring in the background. Maybe it Sara`s first day and that was why she was not sure whether you could die of Azithromycin.
"Thanks for waiting." Sara says as she came back. "You can get some bowel complaints."
"But there are no known deaths?"
'No.'
'Okay thanks. Then I'm going to hang up now. "
"Fine, you can always call if you have any questions."
"See you later." Tyler says, even though that's a strange thing to say on the phone.
"Goodbye." says Sara.
After that phone call, Tyler went to the gym. He had to get rid of all his frustration . The people around him saw it too, because he was quite pounding down on the treadmill. Afterwards Tyler ordered some Chinese. It was delivered in those plastic containers with gray paper wrapped around it. On top of the container was a fortune cookie. In the middle of the cookie was a piece of paper with a message:
Save for yourself the rest of the day. That will do you good.
Tyler took that message very seriously. After he finished the container with noodles, he was therefore going to drink a few beers with Mark and Freddy. They talked a bit about music and he asked if they got laid recently. Mark said he did, Freddy said no. The days after Tyler was saving himself still. he did not go to his classes. Instead, he was watching series in bed the whole day. Until this day he is still saving himself, even if it is a month since he broke the cookie. He still hasn't called Lucy. Sometimes Tyler thinks about calling her, but then ends up not doing it in the end. At the mall, he sometimes sees a woman walking a dog. Every time he wonders, if it`s Sara.

How is it possible to always say the wrong words at the wrong time? I was new in town, but at the right time met an amazing friend and he had taken me to a club where it all happened at the right time.
We drank, we danced and maybe something was sniffed in a women's toilet, but no memories of that have survived anyway.
"Tea?" I catapulted the word back at the girl with the curls.
She had beautiful eyes and a charming way of moving I fell for.
"Tea, gives you lice in your stomach."
She had red boots and black tights and a red and white checkered skirt, a blouse that almost looked Amish in its chastity but its just seemed to make her look wild. Her curls were red and her eyes maybe green or else amber of colour.
I wanted to mention a cup of coffee in the morning was negotiable. Coffee would not give you lice in your stomach. Green hair maybe. But that did not matter, because i would sign up for a life with green hair and her by my side. I would even sign up for a living with odd bumps and one eye straight above my nose, as long as it would be by her side.
But she took her loss and said, "Okay."
I saw her run away. She whispered into the ear of a friend, maybe it was about me. Maybe she said: "I asked her if she wanted to come over for a cup of tea, but no. She`s probably taken. "
I was as taken as a toilet on a beach in November.
I could not find my friend anymore. In my previous town I could always just walk home, I would stumble from curb to curb, yes, but my courageous boots would always get me to my house. But right now I didn't know anything anymore. Those eyes! Those curls!
My friend?
I jabbered my address at an Uber because I knew my address.
I bounced into bed. Rose again, because I still had my contacts in, and I didn't brush my teeth yet.
Bounced back into bed. This was the life right? Going out, brushing teeth, lying in bed, and then all else would follow smoothly.
Since then, my eyes stare to the poorly lit and poorly plastered ceiling every night.
Girl, what was your name?
You loved tea. The lice feasted in your stomach.
It is five years ago now, I've never seen her since.

The speedometer ran up to 110, which was quite an achievement for such a short sprint from his driveway. If he now stepped on it a little more, Jesse would still make the green light at the intersection.
Not that it really mattered, because with the kind of speed Jesse drove at he would just continue. Everyone knew that stopping was not an option at this speed. He flicked the ash from his cigarette and looked in his rear view mirror in one smooth motion. Jeff was already 30 meters behind him with that barrel of junk of his. It had been a good laugh when his mate scooted by in that dark gray Ford Pinto. When that 1500 kilos of corroding steel got up to speed it wasn't too bad, but you had to be really patient to ever get to that point. Not even mentioning how terrible it was during braking. No, in this city Jesse`s red Volkswagen golf was the king.

It was cold. A frosty wind cut through my coat and the rain lashed into my face.
It seemed as if the wind turned with me, every turn i took the wind kept facing me head on. Luckily it was only a little bit further to the mall. There I would meet her and there I was going to buy a bikini with her. Because we would be leaving for Miami Beach in two weeks. There would be no pelting rain or freezing cold . There it would be 26 degrees in the shade.

She is standing at the bar. Arm confident on her hip, like a queen. The music rumbles through the bar and cheers the audience on; the dancers move their bodies rhythmically to the beat.
I'm standing against the wall on the other side of the bar , surrounded by a flock of friends who are so busy chatting about that one absent friend, they are not aware that I am not saying a word. Giggling, they shout gossips at each other louder than music. She looks around the room cocky, as if she actually has better things to do and was only socially obliged to take some time out to linger through the sweating crowd. I look at her and closely follow even the slightest movement she makes.
There she was, in all her glory drenched in chocolate sauce.
He had to restrain himself to not utter an amorous cry at the sight of the monstrous tower of dark culinary craftsmanship. He emotionally sank to his knees.
There was a note: "Congratulations and we wish you a great day! - Bakery Corbett '

This can`t be anything but a joke. Every person with eyes, including me, thinks it is. The others knew from the moment she had entered.
They looked at her then at me and mumbled: 'Look at that fine specimen sitting there with that monster. Look at those sweet dimples in her cheeks, her nauseatingly beautiful eyes, her perfectly fitting shirt. Not to mention her shiny hair and disarming smile. What's she doing with her? "

Stephanie does not like sitting at home. With her 37 years she feels just as young as she was at 17 and drove all over town on her purple vespa.
Now she has swapped that purple beast for Tommy, chris and James years ago, but her wild side is still there. However, you would never be able to tell. On the outside Stephanie looks like an ordinary New Jersey mother. With a nice, ordinary husband and a fine, ordinary part-time job as assistant at an Ford dealership.

Julia Duenes (81) has lived in one of the now renovated high-rise flats in Eastern Detroit since the mid 70's. She never had a lot of contact with the outside world. But in the last two years, Julia has become even more secluded from society. Actually her surrounding neighbors never see her come out of her home. Every day next door neighbour Matt breathes a sigh of relief when he gets home from work and he hears the chicago P.D. Tune humming through the thin walls at 8 o`clock. Julia always loved watching all of these police drama series. Thanks to Chicago P.D., Matt no longer holds the guilt on his mind of the distinct aroma that arouses his nostrils and the piles of mail upon Julia`s doorstep.

"I uh ... I had to pee. That's all. '
The toilet is right here. Rosie made an uninspired gesture toward the bathroom door next to her. She frowned, making a piece of meatball fall from her eyebrow to the ground. "Antony, you know how important this day is for me. I need my rest, I have to look good. We have talked about this. I have to be better than your sister because I do not like her. "
Antony had never heard her say this so literally. He walked back down the hallway, ignoring the gale force winds that the parrot was forecasting for Copenhagen as he passed it. He went to the bathroom as a matter of form, where he performed an oscar-worthy imitation of someone who pees and went back to bed.

You made an appointment at the dentist yesterday. You arrive at his practice and find a note on the door. "Changed my mind and will be remodeling my kitchen, ill be back in a few hours," You check your email, telephone and tamagotchi, but he never informed you about it. When hours later he finally shows up, you say that you find this situation very odd, he states that he had clearly put it on his website at six this morning. 'How could I know that? Do you even have a website? "You ask him, but instead he refers you to a complaints form on the same website. He already mentions right there and then that he`s not going to read the complaint.

'Raaah! Raaah! Cumulus clouds on the coast! Raaah! "Repeated the bird, as if he was afraid that Antony had misheard him the first time. The parrot could only fit in his cage if he constantly kept his head down. His claustrophobic gloom seeping from his wet, misty eyes.
Antony was so startled that he bumped into the hall closet across the parrot. He heard something fall, and with pain in his heart saw that it was his favorite model airplane, which for years had stood proudly on the closet but now lay on the ground in dozens of pieces. He cussed at himself and then considered his impeccable lack of good options. He trotted back to the bedroom, opened the door and peeked inside. He was relieved Rosie was still asleep. Briefly Antony even considered to just leave his intention for what it was, but his stomach would never forgive him. He closed the door and thought.
